I danced a little in the orchard this morning,
you weren't there, you didn't hear the birds sing.
Nor did you see the fairies flitting,
among the bumble bees a'winking.
I dived beneath the bottle-green,
you weren't there, you didn't taste the freedom.
Nor did you swim across a blue-green land,
while breathing from a yellow tank.
I wore a pouffy candy floss dress,
you weren't there, you didn't see the glitter.
Nor did you dance a dance with me,
whirling across the lacquered floor.
I swam a little in the ocean,
you weren't there, you didn't see the dolphins jump.
Nor did you admire the mermaids tanning,
with their perfect coral earrings.
I shot a perfect ninety three,
you weren't there, you didn't sense the pride.
Nor did you feel the adrenaline coursing,
pumping pumping, through my veins.
I flew a little among the clouds,
you weren't there, you didn't smell the shining sun.
Nor did you catch the rainbow's ends,
where the gold resides just beneath the sand.
I evaded sleep upon my bed,
you weren't there, you didn't feel the wonderment.
Nor did you see the angel's feet a'dancing,
petite and nimble and twinkling.
I slept atop a sailing boat,
you weren't there, you didn't feel the cozy chill.
Nor did you open your eyes to a sky of stars,
so close you could reach and grab a bunch.
I sang a silly song beside a clown,
you weren't there, you didn't catch the mischief.
Nor did you enjoy his funny antics,
while strolling along, licking candy sticks.
I ate a chocolate mansion,
you weren't there, you didn't smell the richness.
Nor did you savour the dark chimney,
as big, as big as a smiling infant.
I ran amok among the meadow grass,
you weren't there, you didn't see the butterflies.
Nor were you tickled by the long long grass,
while chasing a coloured diamond in the sky.
I stood still within a globe of snow,
you weren't there, you didn't feel the swirling flakes.
Nor were you soothed by the music a'tinkling,
so sweet and soft and melodic.
I swung high on a wooden seat,
you weren't there, you didn't hang beneath an old oak tree.
Nor did you watch the world whoosh past,
a myriad of colours, a kaleidoscopic vision.
I opened my eyes to a whole new world,
you weren't there, to help me see.
But now i've seen, here's a pair of magic glasses,
put them on, we'll go together.
Fly among the sprites,
Swim among the whales,
Roll alongside the hedgehogs,
Gambol among the puppies,
Sing among the merfolk,
Play with the pixies,
and we'll crayon the world haphazardly,
so splashes of colour fill every surface,
and we'll dance together in this self-made nirvana,
in time to a cheerful neverending song,
we'll talk till sundown, about the simple joys,
we will, put simply,
enjoy life,
you and me.
